Dublin's whiskey came back in the last fifteen years and the distilleries are all inside a Luas ride: Jameson in Smithfield, Teeling in the Liberties, Roe & Co opposite the Storehouse, Pearse Lyons in a church. The Whiskey Museum opposite Trinity is the one to choose if you want the comparison across brands rather than one brand's story.

Distillery or museum

Jameson is the big tour, forty-five minutes with three tastings, well run and busy. Teeling is smaller, still distilling, and an hour with a tasting at the end. The Whiskey Museum is the neutral one, three or four whiskeys from different houses, and the blending class lets you take a bottle home. Roe & Co does cocktails rather than tastings.

Food walks and pubs

The food tours walk the old centre for two or three hours with six or seven stops, the pubs among them. The pub crawls are cheaper and later. The traditional music pub tours put a musician in charge; the music and dance shows are a theatre evening with a lesson.
