Sagrada Família tickets

The Sagrada Família is the one ticket in Barcelona that sells out, in summer a week ahead, and the tower add-on sells out before the basic entry. Book the timed slot as soon as you know your dates and build the Gaudí day around it. The basic ticket with the audio guide is the same price everywhere; the guided tours cost two to five times more and are worth it if you want the symbolism explained, which is most of what there is to understand.

Morning light comes through the east façade, afternoon light through the west, and the nave is a different colour at each. The towers are a lift up and a spiral down, and the Nativity tower is the one to choose. Allow two hours, more with a guide. It is seven minutes from the centre by metro.
